BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- George Fant scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half as Western Kentucky held on to defeat Louisiana-Lafayette 75-72 on Thursday night.

T.J. Price made a pair of free throws to give Western Kentucky its largest lead of the second half, 63-55 with 3:26 remaining. Steven Wronkoski hit a 3-pointer with 9 seconds left to pull the Ragin' Cajuns within one, 73-72. WKU's Chris Harrison-Docks made both free throws and Elfrid Payton missed a potential game-tying trey at the buzzer.

Western Kentucky (20-10, 12-5 Sun Belt) concludes its regular season Saturday against conference-leader Georgia State (23-7, 16-1), but have already clinched the second seed to the conference tournament and will play in the semifinal game on March 15.

Payton scored 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Louisiana-Lafayette (19-11, 10-7), which dropped into a third-place tie with Arkansas State.
