    Associated Press

RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- Michael Alvarado scored 21 points and Manhattan has won 10 of its last 11 games by beating Siena 90-68 on Thursday night.

Alvarado surpassed 1,000 points for his career and Manhattan is off to its best start since opening 13-2 in the 2001-02 season.

Manhattan (13-3, 6-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led 43-34 when Alvarado stole the ball and dunked it at the other end as time ran out in the first Half.

Rhamel Brown's three point play gave the Jaspers an 18 point, 70-52 lead with just under eight minutes left in the second period.

Siena (7-11, 2-4) began fouling Manhattan with six minutes left and the Jaspers responded by making 11 of 14 tries from the line while the Saints went cold, scoring only eight points in the final 6:17 and losing by 22.

Rob Poole led Siena scorers with 13 points. Poole also grabbed 11 rebounds.
