BALTIMORE -- Ian Chiles scored 23 points Saturday as Morgan State held off a second-half surge to beat Bethune-Cookman 65-61.

Cedric Blossom scored 10 and grabbed 10 rebounds for Morgan State (12-14, 9-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Anthony Hubbard boosted Morgan State's first-half lead to 30-23 after hitting two free throws, but Bethune-Cookman's Malik Jackson hit a jumper and Clemmye Owens drained a desperation shot from half-court at the buzzer to trim the Bears' lead to 30-28 at halftime.

Morgan State led 57-42 after an alley-oop dunk by the 7-foot-2 Chiles at 7:13. Bethune-Cookman cut the lead to five after a steal and layup by Tony Kynard, then Mikel Trapp made it a two-point game 63-61 with a bucket with 19 seconds to play. Blossom hit two free throws to clinch the win and time expired.

Owens led Bethune-Cookman (6-23, 4-11) with 18, Jackson had 11, and Maurice Taylor grabbed 10 rebounds.
