MOBILE, Ala. -- Augustine Rubit scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as South Alabama defeated Wright State 74-70 on Saturday in a CBE Hall of Fame Classic regional matchup.

Trailing 69-67, Wright State had a chance to tie the game but Jerran Young missed a layup with 32 seconds left and Rubit grabbed the rebound. The Jaguars (3-2) then made 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to close out the game.

Rubit set a record for the most career rebounds in program history, surpassing Terry Catledge's previous record of 932 in the first half.

South Alabama shot 51.1 percent from the field and went 10-of-20 from beyond the 3-point line. Barrington Stevens III and Ken Williams had 13 points apiece for the Jaguars.

AJ Pacher led Wright State (3-3) with 18 points.
