The Catamounts (4-3) won the opening tip and scored on a Kenneth Hall jumper -- his only shot of the game. Sumler hit his first four shots and first seven free throws and Western Carolina never trailed. Brandon Boggs scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Mike Brown scored 17 and Rhett Harrelson 12 for Western Carolina.Niagara (1-3) was led by Antoine Mason's 35 points on 12-of-22 shooting with three 3-pointers. The points are a career best for Mason, who has scored at least 25 ever game this season. Ramone Snowden and Marcus Ware scored 16 each for the Purple Eagles.A key difference in an otherwise well-matched game was Western Carolina outscoring Niagara 26-2 on fast-break points.
