SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Jared Brownridge scored a career-high 29 points, including seven in overtime as Santa Clara defeated Loyola-Marymount 86-81 Saturday night.
Brownridge's 3-pointer sparked a 7-0 run to give Santa Clara a 77-70 lead with 2:50 to play in overtime. Brownridge was 4 of 11 from 3-point range. His 50 3-pointers this season surpasses Steve Nash for fifth all-time for freshmen at Santa Clara.
Brandon Clark added 26 points, including seven from the line in overtime for Santa Clara (9-8, 2-2 West Coast Conference).
Anthony Ireland scored a career-high 34 points, including 10 in overtime to lead Loyola-Marymount (10-6, 2-2). He scored 17 in the second half, and his jumper with 12 seconds to play in regulation tied the game at 70.
