GRAMBLING, La. -- Riley Jenkins downed a game-winning 3-point shot as Lyon College (Ark) squeezed by Grambling State 55-54 in a non-conference game on Saturday.
Grambling (1-6) led NAIA member Lyon College (3-8) by three points, 28-25 at halftime and carried that lead throughout most of the second half until Lyon started a comeback with three minutes left and trailing by seven.Lyon inched closer, 54-50 with 30 seconds to go and then cut the lead to two points following a basket with 11 seconds remaining. Grambling missed four free throw attempts over the next 11 seconds while Jenkins hit a 3-pointer in the same span giving the Scots the win.Terry Rose led all Grambling players with 14 points. The Tigers have lost 34 of their last 35 regular season games.
