SPOKANE, Wash. -- Haiden Palmer scored 18 points and had seven steals to lead Gonzaga past Idaho in a 64-56 win Friday night.

Palmer, last season's WCC tournament MVP, also had two blocked shots and seven rebounds. Keani Albanez hit three 3-pointers on her way to 13 points for the No. 25 Bulldogs (1-0), while Sunny Greinacher had 8 points and a blocked shot.

Idaho (0-1) had three players in double digits, Alyssa Charlston with 15 points, Christina Salvatore with 14 and Stacey Barr had 10.

After trailing at the half 26-14, the Vandals stormed back with a 13-2 run to narrow the gap and kept the game close before Gonzaga pulled away with a 9-2 run that secured the win.

Both teams struggled offensively. Gonzaga shot just 33 percent from the field, 21 of 64, while Idaho was 17 of 64.
