Prim Siripipat and Cris Carter break down the Rams' 16-13 overtime win over the 49ersTags: NFL, Sunday Blitz, recap, week 13, analysis, Prim Siripipat, Cris Carter, Rams, 49ers
ST. LOUIS -- Knees bent and arms moving in rhythm, defensive end Chris Long shimmied around the St. Louis Rams locker room, imitating John Travolta's dance moves from "Pulp Fiction" as owner Stan Kroenke made the rounds shaking hands.
After 10 hard quarters proving Jeff Fisher's rebuilding project belonged against the class of the NFC West, and more, heck, they deserved a little celebration."It's gratifying," Long said after Greg Zuerlein kicked a 54-yard field goal with 26 seconds left in overtime to give the Rams a 16-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, avoiding a second tie in three weeks between the teams. "I feel for everybody who's come here and really put in the work and bought into what Coach Fisher's doing."Rams Dominating NFC West
The Rams might be playoff contenders if they didn't have to play outside their division. Sunday's win over the 49ers continued their success in the NFC West this season.

Game notes
49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham (shoulder) did not return after getting hurt in the fourth quarter. Harbaugh said the team "won't know right away" about the severity of the injury. ... Aldon Smith's sack late in the first half gave him an NFL-best 31 1/2 his first two seasons, a half-sack better than Reggie White in 1985-96. ... The Rams sacked Kaepernick twice at the end of the half, including Bill Hayes' second of the game.

Research Notes
From Elias: Greg Zuerlein is the 1st kicker in NFL history to tie a game with a FG of 50+ yards as time expired in the 4th quarter AND kick an OT field goal of 50+ yards in the same game.
Greg Zuerlein now has 7 50-yd FG this season, one shy of the NFL record set by Morten Andersen in 1995 and later tied by Jason Hanson in 2008. [+]Most FG of 50+ Yds in Single Season - NFL History
Close [X] | |||||||||||||||||||||
QBR: Colin Kaepernick had an 82.4 Total QBR in Sunday's loss to the Rams, his 3rd straight start with a QBR over 70.
Alex Smith has not had a single-season 3-start stretch with QBRs above 70 over the last 5 seasons.
NEXT LEVEL: 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did not make many plays with his legs Sunday against the Rams. Take away a 50-yard scramble late in the fourth quarter and the Rams were able to contain Kaepernick. He was 0-for-3 passing outside the pocket and 1-of-5 passing for 6 yards when under duress. Entering the game, Kaepernick was 9-of-17 passing under duress and if he were qualified his completion percentage of 52.9 would lead the league in that category. Kaepernick had also been good outside the pocket before Sunday (11-18, 3 TD).
After scoring three offensive TD vs Bears in Week 11 (Kaepernick's first start), the 49ers offense has scored 3 touchdowns in the last two games combined (on the road at Saints/Rams).
