What's the real North Carolina?
They lost to Belmont and UAB. Sandwiched between those games was a win over defending champion Louisville. How far will Roy Williams' team go come postseason time?
Michigan, UNC upset in hoops
Apparently that scare against Holy Cross was not a fluke, as the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels lost 83-80 at home to the Belmont Bruins on Sunday. And that wasn't the biggest upset, rankings-wise, of the day, with Iowa State topping the seventh-ranked Michigan Wolverines 77-70. This, of course, comes on the heels of No. 2 Michigan State's near-loss to Columbia on Friday. What do you make of these early season missteps?
Michigan State, UNC survive scares
Michigan State didn't look like the same team that beat No. 1 Kentucky this week. The second-ranked Spartans were outrebounded and went 0-for-7 from behind the arc Friday as they needed a late run to escape Columbia 62-53 at home. North Carolina looked equally shaken after shooting just 27 percent in the first half against Holy Cross. Like the Spartans, the No. 12 Tar Heels pulled away down the stretch for the 62-54 win. Were these just stumbles or a sign of what's to come?
