COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Amber Stokes, the reigning Big Ten defensive player of the year and a senior starter for Ohio State, will be lost for the next four weeks with sprained left knee.
Stokes, the team's third-leading scorer at 9.7 points a game, was injured late in the first half of Sunday's 79-73 loss to Illinois. She was helped off the court, crying in pain.
She was evaluated by Ohio State doctors on Monday.
Stokes, the daughter of former Ohio State men's basketball player Ron Stokes, was also averaging 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for the Buckeyes (10-5, 0-2 Big Ten).
