Lindsay Gottlieb gets 2-year extension
BERKELEY, Calif. -- California women's basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb has received a two-year contract extension that takes her through the 2017-18 season after guiding the Golden Bears to the first Final Four appearance in program history.
Gottlieb, 35, led Cal to the Final Four in her second season as coach in Berkeley after returning to the school in spring 2011.
Gottlieb, the media's Pac-12 coach of the year and a 2013 Naismith National Coach of the Year finalist, has a 57-14 record in her first two seasons at Cal after returning to the school following a successful three-year stint at UC Santa Barbara. The Bears were 32-4 overall and 17-1 in the conference this past season, losing to runner-up Louisville 64-57 in the NCAA tournament semifinals.
